Chicago Sky News Release

Tallahassee, FL-Chicago Sky forward Brooke Wyckoff's number 21 Florida State University jersey will be retired on Friday, November 24 at halftime of the FSU-UF women's basketball game. Wyckoff played at Florida State University from 1997-2001, leading the team to its first NCAA tournament appearance in a decade in her senior year.

As a freshman, Wyckoff set a new FSU single-game mark for blocks with eight vs. SMSU and the school's all-time season record for blocks with 80. She broke the ACC freshman record for blocks per game at 3.0 and was named to the ACC All-Freshman Team.

As a sophomore and junior, Wyckoff continued her dominance inside and led the team in rebounding both seasons while averaging double digits in scoring. In 2000, she was one of five league players named to the inaugural ACC All- Defensive team.

In 2001, Wyckoff's senior season, she led Florida State to a tie for third-place in the ACC, the school's highest finish, and to the NCAA Tournament for the first time in a decade. Wyckoff was an All-ACC first team selection, only the second FSU player ever to receive the honor, and ranked among the ACC's top nine in six statistical categories. Wyckoff still ranks among Florida State's all-time top ten in four career statistical categories and is the school's record-holder with 209 blocks.

A four-time Academic All-ACC selection, Wyckoff was also named a Verizon Academic All-American second team selection and won the ACC postgraduate scholarship.

Nationally, Wyckoff was a member of USA Basketball's Select Team in 1998, the World University Games Team in 1999 and the Jones Cup Team in 2000.

In 2001, Wyckoff was selected 26th overall in the WNBA Draft by the Connecticut Sun. After spending three years with the Sun, the Sky selected Wyckoff in the 2005 Expansion Draft. In her first season with the Sky, she finished 2nd on the team in assists and 5th on the team in minutes per game.

Wyckoff now calls Chicago home. During the off-season, she has held two full- time internship positions. While training for the 2006 season, she interned at Element 79 Partners, an advertising firm based in Chicago and New York City, and worked with the Gatorade Team. Currently, Wyckoff is working as an intern in the Marketing and Client Services Department at Ariel Capital Management, a Chicago based investment firm.

The Chicago Sky celebrated its inaugural season in 2006. Season tickets are now available for purchase online at www.chicagosky.net or by calling 877-329- WNBA (9622).
