Cary Invasion News Release
Cary, NC: The Fayetteville Crossover and the Cary Invasion met for the second time in eight days for their final game of the regular season series. Invasion guard Paul Wright (Mountain State) came out hot scoring Cary's first 9 points and leading the home team to a 27 to 15 advantage after the first quarter.
But, the visiting Crossover squad handled the Cary press well in the second quarter, getting easy buckets and several key stops that closed the game to only a 4-point difference at halftime. Cary quickly built a double-digit lead early in the second half, but again Fayetteville made a run to get within a point late in the 3rd.
Wright took over the game in the fourth quarter, scoring seemingly at will from inside and outside the arc and leading the Invasion to a 49-point fourth quarter and a 93-point second half. The Invasion win the game going away 146-119. Wright finished the game with 31 points. Invasion forward Daniel Jackson and guard Marsheree Neely each had 10 rebounds for the home team. Crossover forward DeShawn McLean had 24 points and 12 rebounds.
Cary (4-0) plays next on April 28th at 7 pm in Concord, NC vs. the Queen City Express. Fayetteville (3-2) next plays at home against the Greensboro Cobras on May 5th.
