Rocky Mountain Rage News Release
Broomfield, Colo. - The Central Hockey League announced today that the natural hat trick scored by the Rocky Mountain Rage's Scott Wray last Saturday in a 4-3 shootout win over the Rapid City Rush is one of five nominees for the CHL Performance of the Week (Nov. 17-23).
CHL fans will determine which player or team turned in the Performance of the Week by voting on www.centralhockeyleague.com through Monday, Dec. 1. The winner will be announced on Dec. 2.
Wray's three goals during Saturday's second period marked the Rage's first hat trick of the season and the third natural hat trick (three consecutive goals including both teams) in franchise history. The 10th-year pro and three-time All-Star also set a new team record by generating 12 shots on goal (he also hit one post bidding for his fourth goal), tying a league season-high.
Wray's competition for Performance of the Week:
Travis Clayton (Bossier-Shreveport Mudbugs) playing in record-setting 709th CHL game on November 21
Oklahoma City Blazers' five PP goals in 7-3 win over Texas Brahmas on November 23
Colorado Eagles' team-record seven-goal second period in 8-2 win over Rapid City on November 21
Jeff Alcombrack's (Mississippi RiverKings) four-point night in 6-4 win against Tulsa Oilers on November 21
