October 8, 2006 - American Basketball Association (ABA)
Waco Wranglers News Release

WACO, Texas-Wrangler Guard Reggie Griffin scored 27 points to lead the Wranglers to a 153-109 win over SW Lightning Oklahoma Sunday.

Every player contributed to the team by putting points on the board. Five other players had double figures with Mario Kinsey adding 20, Calvin Williams 15, Kevin Winn 13, Chris Johnson 22 and Bobby Hill 22.

"I think we played pretty solid tonight. A lot of guys had the chance to come off the bench and contribute, Reggie Griffin said. "More than one player can score double figures in any given night. So I believe that's good for us. We tried to stay solid on our defense end and I think that's really what gave us the edge."

The Wrangler's trailed by 13 at the beginning of the second quarter before regaining their lead to enter half time with a score of 69-56. The Wrangler's stepped up their game in the fourth quarter to finish with a 44 point lead over SW Lightning Oklahoma (153-109).

"We're going to be a fourth quarter team. That's when we really took over and won the game." Coach Toni said.

"It was a good win for us and any time that you score 153 points that exciting," Coach Toni said. "It was exciting for the fans, it was exciting for the players and it was exciting to coach a game like that."

The Wrangler's have a 2-0 record after defeating both Dallas Diesel and SW Lightning Oklahoma this weekend.

The Waco Wrangler's return to action Saturday, Oct. 14, at 7:00 p.m. to compete against Houston Blaze at the Murray Watson Jr. Student Recreation Center at Texas State Technical College Waco. Tickets will be on sale at the door starting at ten dollars.
