Cape Cod Frenzy News Release
Orleans, MA. The ABA Cape Cod Frenzy are pleased to announce the signing of a former Rochester RazorShark, 6-3 guard Jermaine Watson from Dorchester, MA. Watson is the second player signed by the Frenzy and the second Boston College Eagle.
Watson, who was a teammate of Steve Hailey, the first player signed by Cape Cod, on the 2004-2005 Boston College squad that compiled a 20-0 start and a top five national ranking. He was signed in March of last season by Rochester, the eventual 2005-2006 ABA Champion.
Jermaine played his high school ball at Tabor Academy in Marion, MA with former Notre Dame center Torrin Francis. Watson averaged 28.5 points and 5.0 assists at Tabor, and was named All-New England in 2000 and 2001, as well as earning McDonald's All American honors. Marion is approximately 20 minutes from nearby Cape Cod.
"I feel real comfortable with the area having attended Tabor and I was very impressed with the level of talent at our Vet Camp," stated Watson. "I'm happy to be here." The Frenzy plan to announce more signings in the coming days as the team's roster comes into focus. A ten day training camp begins October 23rd and it will be held at Willy's Gym in North Eastham, MA.
