Wranglers Stop Thunder 4-2, Tie Series 1-1

Las Vegas, NV - The Las Vegas Wranglers® (5-4) defeated the Stockton Thunder (5-4) 4-2 in Game 2 of the Pacific Division Finals in front of 2,816 fans at the Orleans Arena on Monday night. Forwards Dan Riedel and Adam Miller each tallied a goal and an assist as the Wranglers improve to 5-4 this postseason. Wranglers' defenseman Jason Dest and Sean Owens also scored in the win. Las Vegas goalie Glenn Fisher made 23 saves as the Wranglers tied the series at 1-1. Forwards James Bates and David Rohlfs each scored for the Thunder. Stockton goalie Parker Van Buskirk stopped 26 of 30 in his second loss of the playoffs. With the victory, the Wranglers automatically force Game 5 in Las Vegas next Monday. Las Vegas will head to Stockton for Game 3 at the Stockton Arena at 7:00 PM on Thursday night.

Las Vegas tallied a power-play goal at 6:52 to open up a three-goal first period lead. Defenseman Sean Owens snapped a shot from the left circle for his second goal of the playoffs and a 1-0 Wranglers lead. Less than two minutes later, Las Vegas forward Dan Riedel let off a wrist shot to increase the score to 2-0. Forwards Kelly Czuy and Adam Miller set up Riedel's fifth goal of the playoffs on the power play. The Wranglers stretched the lead to 3-0 with a goal from defenseman Jason Dest. With 1:29 remaining in the first period, Dest let off a wrist shot for his first goal of the playoffs.

With just 15-seconds remaining in the second period, Stockton chipped into the lead with a power-play goal. Forward James Bates put the puck top shelf for his sixth goal of the playoffs, cutting the score to 3-1.

In the third period, the Wranglers stretched the lead to 4-1 with a power-play goal from forward Adam Miller. Miller found a loose puck at 6:37 of the final period and tapped in his third goal of the playoffs. Stockton answered back with a goal from forward David Rohlfs at 9:21. Rohfls tallied his second goal of the playoffs to cut the score to 4-2.

The series will now shift to Stockton for Games 3 and 4 at the Stockton Arena. Game Three is set for 7:00 pm on Thursday, April 30th and Game 4 is slated for 7:30 pm on Saturday, May 2nd. The Wranglers will host Game 5 on Monday, May 4th at 7:30 pm. In necessary, Games 6 and 7 will also be at the Orleans Arena. If needed, Game Six will be set for Tuesday, May 5th and if necessary, Game Seven is slated for Wednesday, May 6th.
