The Wranglers were shutout for the first time in the 2009 Kelly Cup Playoffs in Game 1 at Alaska.

The Wranglers dropped to 1-2 in Game 1 of a series in the 2009 Kelly Cup Playoffs.

American Conference Finals

South Carolina Stingrays vs. Cincinnati Cyclones

The Stingrays defeated the Cyclones in Game 1 of the American Conference Finals, taking the series lead 1-0. The Stingrays scored four goals in the second period, powering their way to a 7-4 victory over the defending champs. Game 2 is scheduled for Monday night in South Carolina

Game 1 Recap

Anchorage, AK - The Las Vegas Wranglers (8-7) were defeated by the Alaska Aces (9-2) 2-0 in Game 1 of the National Conference Finals in front of 5,757 fans at the Sullivan Arena on Saturday night. Alaska goalie J.P. Lamoureaux made 18 saves for the shutout, his fourth of the playoffs. Alaska takes a 1-0 series lead in the best of seven series. Aces forward Lance Galbraith broke a scoreless tie late in the second period for the eventual game winner. Las Vegas goalie Glenn Fisher stopped 30 of 31 Aces shots in the defeat.
