Phoenix, Ariz. - The world champion Arizona Rattlers have been assigned wide receiver Dan Buckner for the 2015 Arena Football League (AFL) season. This is Buckner's first season in the AFL and with the Arizona Rattlers.

The 6-foot-4, 215-pound Buckner previously spent time on the National Football League's (NFL) Arizona Cardinals practice squad in 2013 and was with the Cardinals through the 2014 pre-season. He also spent some time in 2013 with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Before his stint in the NFL, Buckner attended both the University of Arizona and the University of Texas. While at Texas, Buckner appeared in 26 games, catching 50 passes for 526 yards and 6 touchdowns. In 2010, Buckner transferred to Arizona where he played in 25 games, totaling 103 catches for 1,379 yards and 7 touchdowns.

The Allen, Texas native and three year letterman attended Allen High School where he was a Texas 5A First-Team All-State selection by the Associated Press and the Texas Sports Writers Association and received District 9-5A First-Team All-Area and All-District honors as a senior. Buckner also played basketball as a freshmen and a sophomore for the Eagles.

The Arizona Rattlers (11-2) will face the Las Vegas Outlaws (5-8) Saturday, July 11th at 6 p.m. at the US Airways center.
