LOS ANGELES, Calif. (May 31, 2005) - Soccer fans in Los Angeles have a chance to see their sport's greatest prize on display June 4-5, as Budweiser hosts the 2006 FIFA World Cup Germany™ Winner's Trophy during a rare visit to the United States. Highlighting the trophy's tour stop in Los Angeles will be an appearance at the L.A. Galaxy soccer game at The Home Depot Center. Fans attending the match on Saturday, June 4, against the MetroStars will have a chance to view and photograph the trophy.

"It's incredible to witness the excitement and emotion of soccer fans across the world when they see the 2006 FIFA World Cup Germany™ Winner's Trophy," said Charlie Cindric, region vice president, Anheuser-Busch, Inc. "For many of these enthusiasts, this is a once-in-a-lifetime chance to see the trophy, so Budweiser takes great pride in making these viewing opportunities a possibility."

Budweiser, an official sponsor of the 2006 FIFA World Cup Germany™, is hosting a trophy tour in three countries - China, the United Kingdom and the United States - with Los Angeles, San Diego and Houston serving as the lone U.S. stops.

"The Los Angeles Galaxy are very privileged to host the FIFA World Cup Trophy at our game this Saturday at The Home Depot Center," said Galaxy President and General Manager Doug Hamilton. "It is a unique opportunity for our fans and players to experience first hand what is the most coveted trophy in the world."

During its five-day, three-market tour of the United States, the 2006 FIFA World Cup Germany™ Winner's Trophy will be protected under heavy guard. Armed, off-duty law enforcement officials will provide 24-hour-a-day security for the coveted gold statuette whose value is immeasurable in the hearts of FIFA World Cup™ athletes and fans.

The 2006 FIFA World Cup Germany™ kicks off next June. This is the second time Germany has hosted this tournament. Only three other countries (France, Italy and Mexico) have hosted two FIFA World Cups™. In recognition of this historic FIFA occasion, Budweiser will support its sponsorship of the 2006 FIFA World Cup Germany™ through a variety of unique marketing promotions and activities.

One highly anticipated event is the return of the Budweiser Cup featuring the top six-man amateur soccer teams from around the world. This global soccer tournament debuted during the 2002 FIFA World Cup™ and again will send international teams that won local qualifying tournaments to Germany, to compete for the Budweiser Cup 2006 soccer championship.

The 2006 FIFA World Cup Germany™ is Budweiser's sixth consecutive tournament as a major event sponsor, serving as a symbol of the brand's commitment to soccer. In addition, Budweiser is an official sponsor of Major League Soccer and its 12 U.S. franchises as well as a sponsor of the U.S. Olympic and National soccer teams.
