Worcester Sharks Host Online Jersey Auction to Benefit the Autism Resource Center of Central Massach

WORCESTER - Worcester Sharks President Michael A. Mudd announced that the Worcester Sharks will auction off the remaining Autism Awareness jerseys during an online auction to benefit the Autism Resource Center of Central Massachusetts on www.SharksAHL.com beginning on Wednesday, February 27 at 8p.m. (EST).

The Sharks sported the autism awareness jerseys during Worcester's 4-1 win over the Portland Pirates on February 23, 2013 at the DCU Center.

Proceeds of the online jersey auction will benefit the Autism Resource Center of Central Massachusetts.

The online jersey auction to benefit the Autism Resource Center of Central Massachusetts begins on Wednesday, February 27 at 8p.m. (EST) and concludes on Wednesday, March 6 at 8p.m. (EST) and will consist of the following jerseys;

Game worn autism awareness jersey from Worcester Sharks 2nd year goaltender Harri Sateri. Harri was the backup goaltender for the PINK in the RINK game. Native of Toijala, Finland, Sateri was drafted by the San Jose Sharks in the 4th round in 2008 (106th overall). Spent three seasons in Tappara in the Finnish League. As of Feb 9, Has a 10-11-2 record with a 2.69 gaa and a .909 save %

Game worn autism awareness jersey from Sharks defenseman Matt Irwin. Was +2 in the jersey. As of Feb 27 has played nine games this season with the San Jose Sharks and scored his first NHL goal. A product of UMass-Amherst, Matt has 15 points in 35 games this season for Worcester.

Game issued autism awareness jersey from Sharks defenseman Nick Petrecki. Made his NHL debut this season for the San Jose Sharks. Has played 221 games with Worcester and ranks 2nd all-time with 404 penalty minutes. Was named the AHL Man of the Year for his work in the central Massachusetts community. Drafted by the San Jose Sharks with the 28th pick overall in the 2007 NHL draft. Won a national championship with Boston College in 2008.

Game issued autism awareness jersey from Sharks forward James Sheppard. Is currently playing with the San Jose Sharks. Was originally drafted by the Minnesota Wild with the 9th overall pick in the 2006 NHL Draft. Has played over 200 games in NHL. Had 23 points in 34 games with Worcester this season at the time of his recall.

Game issued autism awareness jersey from Sharks forward Tim Kennedy. Currently on recall with the San Jose Sharks. Leading pint scorer for the Worcester Sharks with 37 points (13-24-37) in 37 games. A Buffalo, NY native has also played with the Buffalo Sabres and the Florida Panthers. Won a national championship with Michigan State University in 2007.

Game worn autism awareness jersey from Sharks forward Matt Pelech. Fired four shots on goal in the jersey. Leads Worcester with 13 fighting majors and 186 penalty minutes and was a first round draft pick of the Calgary Flames. Has played two games with the San Jose Sharks this season and recorded a fighting major.
