Virginia Beach Mariners News Release
Virginia Beach, VA- The United Soccer Leagues First and Second Division Teams of the Week were announced Monday. Both Alan Woods and Jakob Fenger were listed as part of the USL First Division Team of the Week for the 5th week of the season.
Alan Woods, defender, joined the Virginia Beach Mariners last season. He was the USL First Division League Leader in Minutes and was chosen for the ALL League Team in 2003. This season he has helped lead the Mariners to a 1-0 win at Miami.
Jakob Fenger, midfielder/forward, has been with the Virginia Beach Mariners since 2003. He has been ranked first in the league for most games played (28) and has also received an award for Team Player of the Year. He is highlighted this season for scoring the wining goal against Miami.
