Manchester Wolves News Release
MANCHESTER, N.H. (May 12, 2004) - The Manchester Wolves (arenafootball2) have finished up the first third of their schedule in great shape at 3-3 and are getting a well deserved break this week. Most of the Wolves players and coaches are taking advantage of their bye week by visiting family and friends. The team returns to action at home next Friday night, May 21, at the Verizon Wireless Arena against the Birmingham Steeldogs.
Wolves' wide receiver/defensive back Reggie Robinson flew home this past weekend to Shreveport, LA to spend a few days with his family, specifically his 4-year-old son Reggie, Jr.
"It feels good to have a couple of days to let the body recuperate," Robinson said. "I'm just going to enjoy relaxing, eating some home cooked meals and spending time with my son."
Robinson also said he would be catching up with friends, one of which is former LSU hoops star and current Memphis Grizzlies forward Stromile Swift. Robinson and Swift grew up together in Shreveport, attended Fair Park High and went on to college together at LSU.
Third-year defensive specialist Allistair Sebastien is another player that traveled home to Roosevelt, NY to see his two younger sisters, Zisca and Kadine.
"It's nice to be home, and my younger sisters are happy about it too," Sebastien said. "It's fun to be able to hang out with them for a few days."
While most of the Wolves have chosen to go home to rest, a few have stayed in town to work. Among the few and the proud are none other than former New England Patriot Vernon Crawford and starting QB Chris Sanders. Crawford and Sanders, two of the most recognizable names and faces among the Wolves 2004 team, were recently hired by one of the team's owners, C.B. Sullivan. Sullivan brought the two players in as part-time delivery carriers for his beauty supply & equipment distribution company, C.B. Sullivan, Inc.
"Over the last couple of weeks since my injury (broken wrist), I've been working Monday - Friday, delivering all over New England," Crawford said. "Chris and I are both having fun meeting new people and traveling around the area."
Fans are invited join the Wolves for their next home game on Friday, May 21, against the Birmingham Steeldogs at the Verizon Wireless Arena. Kick-off for this event is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. and all fans through the doors will receive a FREE pair of Bangstix, courtesy of Talarico Dealerships, 95.7 WZID and Verizon Wireless. To get in the game, purchase your tickets today at the Verizon Wireless Arena box office or through Ticketmaster at 603-868-7300, at Ticketmaster outlets or online at www.ticketmaster.com.
