Chicago Wolves News Release

The Chicago Wolves have re-signed defenseman BRIAN SIPOTZ (SIHP-ihts) for a fourth season.

The 25-year-old blueliner led the American Hockey League and set a franchise record with a +34 plus/minus rating in 73 regular-season games with the Wolves last year. The 6-foot-7-inch, 248-pound defenseman notched 10 assists and 12 points in those contests and appeared in eight postseason tilts during the team's run to the Western Conference Final, posting a +1 plus/minus rating and two penalty minutes.

Overall, the South Bend, Ind., native has racked up 28 assists, 34 points and 108 penalty minutes in 205 career AHL contests with Chicago, spanning three seasons (2004-07). He has also skated in 26 Calder Cup playoff games for the Wolves, recording two assists and three points.

SIPOTZ, who was honored as the Wolves 2006-07 American Specialty/AHL Man of the Year for his outstanding commitment to the Chicagoland community and local charities, played four seasons at Miami University of Ohio (2000-04) prior to beginning his professional career with the Wolves.

In accordance with team policy, terms of the deal were not disclosed.

The Wolves have already released five premium home dates for the upcoming 2007-08 season: Oct. 13; Nov. 17; Dec. 1; Dec. 27 and Jan. 19. The complete schedule, along with opponents and times, will be released later this summer. For season ticket or group outing information, log on to chicagowolves.com or call 1-800-THE-WOLVES.
