The Chicago Wolves have released goaltender JOE CANNATA from his Amateur Tryout Contract (ATO).

CANNATA backstopped the Wolves to a 4-2 win over Peoria in his pro debut on Sunday, stopping 38 of 40 shots.

Prior to signing with Chicago, the 22-year-old netminder completed his senior campaign at Merrimack College (Hockey East) this year, posting a 17-12-7 record, and career-bests 2.18 goals-against average and .925 save percentage in 36 contests. His 2.18 goals-against average ranked 14th in the NCAA, while his .925 save percentage held 11th nationally.

Overall, the Wakefield, Mass., native notched a 59-46-16 mark, 2.47 goals-against average and .915 save percentage in 122 career games with Merrimack College spanning four seasons (2008-12). His 59 victories set the school record for most career wins by a goaltender.
