This Saturday's matchup at a glance – Mohegan Wolves (5-3) at Rochester Brigade (1-8)

Saturday's game between Mohegan and Rochester will be the sixth meeting between the two clubs and third and final head-to-head matchup of 2003. In their two meetings this year, the Wolves and Brigade have each won on their home turf. Rochester currently leads the all-time series 3-2. Their most recent meeting came on May 3 at Rochester. The Brigade defeated Mohegan in that contest, 37-34, for their first and only win of the season. In the first matchup on April 5, 2003, the Wolves bombarded the Brigade, 57-20, at Mohegan Sun Arena. Rochester is led on offense by WR/DB Derek Baker and FB/LB Lamonte Coleman. Baker has been dynamic for the Brigade all season long. He's a threat as both a receiver and kick return specialist, and currently ranks fourth in af2 in all-purpose yards with 1,552. He also ranks among the league's elite in scoring with 116 points. Coleman ranks third in the league in rushing with 170 yards on 36 carries. He also has seven rushing touchdowns on the season. Rochester's defense, however, is a sore spot for the club. The Brigade rank near the bottom of the league in scoring defense, allowing nearly 50 points per game (49.6). In contrast, the Wolves defense is rock solid. A year after recording just 18 sacks in 16 games, Mohegan currently ranks among the league's best in sacks with 16 in 2003. Offensively, the Wolves will look for another strong showing from QB Greg Smith. Smith looked sharp in Mohegan 's most recent game, completing 23-of-32 passes for a season-high 286 yards and six touchdowns. Four of Smith's six touchdown passes went to rookie OS Mel Long. Long leads the Wolves in receptions (31), receiving yards (474) and touchdowns (12).
