Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Pioneers News Release

Wilkes-Barre, PA - The Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Pioneers are pleased to announce that starting quarterback Chris Boden has been invited for a tryout with the NFL's Buffalo Bills scheduled for Monday, June 9th.

"I'm excited to have the chance to get in front of an NFL staff and show them what I can do," said Boden.

"This is a great opportunity for Chris," said Pioneers Head Coach Dean Cokinos. "It's a testament to his hard work and years of dedication."

Boden is scheduled to play in the Pioneers' Saturday, June 14th game against the Mohegan Wolves at the Mohegan Sun Arena.

He will be one of approximately 80 players (including five quarterbacks) to participate in the invite-only tryout, according to John Guy, Buffalo's Director of Pro Personnel. Guy added that players evaluated in these types of tryouts might be utilized later to fill roster spots prior to training camp or in the event of injury.

Wilkes-Barre/Scranton's next home game will be Friday, June 20th against the Rochester Brigade. The theme of the game is "Hawaiian Shirt Night," and the featured giveaway item is the Pony Express dance team calendar. Fans may inquire about ticket availability by calling the team's ticketing office at 570-270-5811 or 570-270-3848.
