Chicago Wolves News Release
The Chicago Wolves have been named the recipient of the American Hockey League's 2010 President's Award, given to an AHL organization for excellence in all areas off the ice.
The Wolves also received Team Business Service Awards for top revenue growth in the Western Conference in the categories of overall ticket sales growth, overall corporate sales growth and group ticket sales growth. Chicago also took home the award for sponsorship sales department of the year.
"These awards are a direct reflection of a very talented staff," said Wolves President Mike Gordon. "The entire organization, both on and off the ice, strives on a daily basis to make the Chicago Wolves the best sports value in Chicago."
The Wolves ranked third in the AHL in regular-season attendance with an average of 7,963 fans per game, which includes 11 crowds of more than 10,000. The club also set franchise records in corporate revenue and number of corporate partnerships during the 2009-10 season, which includes seeing corporate involvement increase by 24 percent.
The AHL called the Wolves organization a forerunner in unique promotions and game-night experience, and one of the league's model organizations in terms of community relations.
The Wolves have announced six dates for the 2010-11 season, including the 17th home opener at the Allstate Arena on Sat., Oct. 16, at 7 p.m. For more information on ticket packages or group outings, visit chicagowolves.com or call 1-800-THE-WOLVES.
