Minnesota Wild Re-Signs LW Robbie Earl

HOUSTON - Minnesota Wild General Manager Chuck Fletcher today announced the National Hockey League (NHL) club has re-signed left wing Robbie Earl to a one-year, two-way contract. Earl was an unrestricted free agent.

Earl, 25 (6/2/85), recorded six goals while averaging 8:56 time on ice (TOI) in 32 games with the Wild in 2009-10. Earl tallied 18 points (10-8=18) in 41 games with the Aeros. The 5-foot-11, 197-pound native of Chicago, Ill. recorded nine points (4-5=9) in 33 regular season games with Houston in 2008-09, and he added nine points (5-4=9) in 20 playoff contests after being acquired from Toronto in exchange for Ryan Hamilton on Jan. 21, 2009. Earl played collegiately at the University of Wisconsin. He was originally selected by the Maple Leafs in the sixth round (187th overall) of the 2004 NHL Entry Draft.
