
Wolves Get Six From Atlanta

The Atlanta Thrashers have assigned forwards MICHAEL FORNEY, TOMAS POSPISIL (PAHS-pih-sil) and MATT SIDDALL (sih-DUHL), and defenseman SCOTT LEHMAN (LEE-MAN) to the Chicago Wolves. In addition, the Thrashers have released forwards MATT ANDERSON and DARRYL SMITH, who will report to Wolves training camp when it opens on Mon., Sept. 21.
LEHMAN appeared in 50 games with Chicago last season, collecting five points (2G, 3A) and 86 penalty minutes during his second full campaign with the team. The 23-year-old defenseman also made his National Hockey League debut in one outing with the Thrashers last year. Overall, LEHMAN has recorded 12 points (4G, 8A) and 209 penalty minutes in 93 career American Hockey League outings with Chicago (2006-09).
POSPISIL notched two points (G, A) and 14 penalty minutes in 31 games with Chicago and four points (G, 3A) and four penalty minutes in 17 tilts with the AHL's Albany River Rats last season. He also picked up two goals and three points during a two-game ECHL stint with the Gladiators. Overall, the 22-year-old left wing has amassed eight points (2G, 6A) in 59 career AHL outings with the Wolves and River Rats, and 44 points (20G, 24A) in 56 ECHL matchups with Gwinnett during his two-year professional career (2007-09).
SIDDALL registered one assist and 19 penalty minutes in 20 games with the Wolves last season during his pro debut. The 24-year-old right wing also racked up 37 points (17G, 20A) and 153 penalty minutes in 40 ECHL contests with Gwinnett.
FORNEY was selected by the Atlanta Thrashers with their third choice, 80th overall, in the 2006 NHL Entry Draft and spent last season with the Green Bay Gamblers (USHL), where the 21-year-old left wing paced that squad with 60 points (24G, 36A) in 59 outings.
ANDERSON was signed by Chicago on August 31, after recording 33 points (14G, 19A) in 80 matchups with Chicago over the last three seasons. The 26-year-old forward also appeared in 24 Calder Cup playoff matchups with the Wolves in 2007 and 2008, logging four points (2G, 2A), and helping the team capture the 2008 Calder Cup.
SMITH made his AHL debut in four games with the Houston Aeros last season, and bagged 70 points (36G, 34A) in 60 tilts with the Laredo Bucks (CHL).
