Sudbury Wolves News Release

The Sudbury Wolves were in Hamilton Saturday night to visit the Bulldogs for the final time this season. This was a must win game for the Bulldogs who are in the fight for a playoff spot. ZACK BOWMAN made 3 saves on 3 breakaway attempts by Hamilton and was solid in net to give the Wolves the opportunity to win, but they couldn't tie up the game in the dying seconds as Hamilton took a 2-1 victory over the Wolves.

The Wolves and Bulldogs played a scoreless first period. Both teams had numerous chances to take an early lead, but the goaltenders stood tall. Shots on goal after the opening 20 minutes were 12 to 10 in favour of the Wolves.

Hamilton got on the board first in the second period as Michael Cramarossa scored unassisted 7:03 into the frame to give the Bulldogs a 1-0 lead. ALAN LYSZCZARCZYK was able to tie the game up for the Wolves 7 minutes later as he finished off a play from MIKKEL AAGAARD and KYLE CAPOBIANCO. Hamilton outshot the Wolves in the second period 16 to 7.

Michael Luff scored the go-ahead goal for the Bulldogs 13:06 into the third period. This marked his 24th goal of the season. The Wolves pulled Bowman in the dying seconds for the extra man to help tie up the game, however Bulldogs goaltender Connor Hicks shut the door as the Wolves fell by a final score of 2-1. Final shots on goal were 36-28 in favour of Hamilton.

The Wolves are back in action Thursday as they kick off their final weekend of the season in North Bay against the Battalion at 7:00pm. Fans can follow the Wolves on the road by tuning into the live play-play-play on KFM 95.5 with Stew Kernan.
