Mohegan Wolves News Release
NEW LONDON, Conn. (January 16, 2003) - The Mohegan Wolves announced today they will begin their 2003 arenafootball2 season at home at the Mohegan Sun Arena on Sat., April 5, against the Rochester Brigade.
The Wolves enter their second season in af2 with renewed optimism under the direction of new Head Coach Mark Stoute. Stoute, a Connecticut resident since 1985, brings with him over six years of experience coaching in the Arena Football ranks. He and his staff are looking to bring in a potent mixture of veteran talent and young playmakers that will be the foundation for a winning Wolves football team in 2003.
All eight Wolves home games, which will be featured on Friday and Saturday nights, kick-off at 7:30 PM at the Mohegan Sun Arena. A full 2003 Mohegan Wolves schedule is attached on page 2.
Mohegan's 2003 schedule consists mainly of three, three-game series (home/away) against Northeast Division rivals, Albany, Rochester and Wilkes-Barre/Scranton. Those matchups will weigh heavily on the Wolves' postseason promises.
The Wolves will also play Atlantic Division opponents Norfolk and Richmond twice, once at home and once on the road. Mohegan's two other opponents on the 2003 slate are the Bossier City (La.) Battle Wings and the expansion Cincinnati Swarm, both members of the National Conference. The Wolves will host the Swarm on Sat., June 21, and entertain the Battle Wings on Sat., July 5. The complete af2 division realignment is charted on page 3.
Don't miss a minute of the action as the Wolves make a run for the 2003 playoffs. Season tickets are available and affordable, starting as low as $96 per seat.
Blockbuster giveaway nights are also being planned and will be announced at a later date. For more information, please contact the Mohegan Wolves office at 860.443.1900 or visit them on the web at www.moheganwolves.com
