Sudbury Wolves News Release
(Greater Sudbury, ON) The Sudbury Wolves announce that they have acquired goaltender Marcus Vandenberg from the Niagara IceDogs in exchange for two OHL draft picks.
"We are very excited to add Marcus to our team. He has had some outstanding games this season." said Sudbury Wolves VP & General Manager Rob Papineau. "Most recently Marcus has come off a pair of wins against two of the top teams in Kitchener and in Peterborough which he was named first star honours from both games and was named the OHL Goalie of the Week. With Jakub going to the World Juniors on Sunday we have 8 games over that break, and we really felt a need to add depth in goal for what we are looking to accomplish this season."

He went on to play 29 games with the Rangers finishing the 2022-23 season with a 3.31 goals against average (GAA) and a .898 save percentage (SAV%) in 23 regular season games. Niagara received Marcus ahead of the 2023-24 season where he has played 13 games with a 3.96 goals against average (GAA) and a .889 save percentage (SAV%). On December 4th the OHL announced Marcus as Goaltender of the Week following back-to-back wins against his former team the Kitchener Rangers and the Peterborough Petes posting a 1.96 goals-against average (GAA) and .951 save percentage (SAV%), stopping a total of 77 shots.
