Wolf Pack Sign Forward Ryan Garlock

HARTFORD, July 20, 2009: Hartford Wolf Pack general manager Jim Schoenfeld announced today that the team has signed forward Ryan Garlock to an American Hockey League contract.

The 2008-09 campaign was Garlock's third in the pro ranks, and he split it between the Syracuse Crunch of the AHL and the ECHL's Johnstown Chiefs. In 35 contests with the Crunch, the 6-0, 202-pound Garlock notched four goals and added one assist for five points and amassed 19 minutes in penalties. In 16 games in a Chief uniform, Garlock scored 10 goals and chipped in eight assists for 18 points, while serving 24 minutes in penalties and registering a +5.

Garlock, 23, tied for the Johnstown team lead in goals in 2007-08, and finished third on the club in points and assists, with 26 goals and 25 assists for 61 points in 51 games. He also logged AHL action totaling 14 games that year with three teams, Binghamton, Springfield and Hershey. Garlock spent his rookie year entirely in the AHL with San Antonio, posting three goals and nine assists for 12 points, along with 42 penalty minutes, in 71 games.

Originally a second-round draft pick (45th overall) by the Chicago Blackhawks in 2004 out of the Ontario Hockey League, Garlock has played in a total of 120 AHL games in his career, with seven goals, 13 assists and 20 points to his credit. In 67 career ECHL contests, he has racked up 36 goals and 43 assists for 79 points.
