Bismarck, ND (October 14, 2005) - The Dakota Wizards signed Alex Sanders and Damion Dantzler today, pending league approval. Per club policy, terms of the contracts were not released.

Sanders is a familiar face to Wizards fans. The 6'8" power forward played for the Wizards in 14 games last year after signing during the season. He is a power player who is a dominant force on the boards and runs the floor very well for a big man. He averaged 9.8 points and 8.9 rebounds a game for the Wizards last season.

"Alex is one of those players who runs the floor well. He's very quick and agile for his size," said assistant coach Bryant Notree. "He can score in numerous different ways, whether it's posting up or knocking down the 15 footer. He's also a rebounding force. Alex is a savvy, crafty veteran. Overall, he's a very sound player. He'll be one of our focal points. This signing is key because Alex has proven that he can compete at this level."

Before coming to the Wizards last season, he had spent 5 seasons playing with the Harlem Globetrotters. He made the All-Conference USA team during his senior season at the University of Louisville (98-99 season). He goes by the nickname "Big Ticket".

Dantzler is a newcomer to the CBA. He is a 6'8", 235 pound small forward/power forward who can do numerous things for the team. He is a terrific defender who can also score at will and handle the ball. He was a member of Conference USA's First Team All-Defensive squad his senior season at Louisville (1998), where he played with Sanders. Along with that honor his senior season there, he put up averages of 10 points, 7 rebounds, and 3 assists per game. Since college, he has become a veteran of both the ABA and USBL.

"Damion is one of those rare big men, who have the skills to score from the outside as well as bring the ball up the court when needed," assistant coach Bryant Notree added when asked about Dantzler. "When him and Alex are out on the floor at the same time, it presents so many mismatches for the opposition. With his defensive presence, it makes the rest of the team's defensive assignments that much simpler."
