With Second Straight Win, Jackals Take Series from Quebec

Less than 15 hours after the New Jersey Jackals won the second game of the series over the Quebec Capitales, they were right back at it on Sunday taking the rubber game 10-7 at Stade Canac.

The Jackals came out swinging in the first inning and plated three runs before starter Dylan Brammer toed the rubber.

First baseman Danny Canela lined an RBI single to score John Ruettiger to get things going.

A wild pitch by Quebec starter Lazaro Blanco brought in center fielder David Harris before right fielder Jordan Hinshaw delivered an RBI single to make it 3-0 Jackals.

Quebec got a run on the board without swinging the bat when Brammer walked Zach Wilson with the bases loaded to score Nick Van Stratten in the home half of the frame.

Adam Ehrilch chipped in with a sacrifice fly then to plate Yordan Manduley.

An error in the top of the second allowed Carlos Triunfel to score followed by a Harris three run home run for his 20th of the season to up the Jackals advantage to 7-2.

The Caps would chip back in with two more runs in the home half on singles by Manduley and James McOwen.

In the top of the third, the Jackals had another multi-run inning when catcher Kevin Torres lined an RBI single to score Hinshaw along with an error to score Triunfel.

Seth Spivey grounded out to second to score Harris in the top of the fourth and push the Jersey edge to 10-4.

Manudley cut the lead in half in the bottom of the eight inning with his second RBI single of the contest.

Quebec would not go down quietly in the bottom of the ninth against Jackals reliever Evan DeLuca.

Maxx Tissenbaum hit a one out run-scoring single to bring home Wilson.

Brad Antchak scored Phildrick Llewellyn next to make it 10-7.

With the tying run at the plate, Jackals manager Brooks Carey called upon Mat Latos to earn the final out of the inning.

Latos induced a fielder's choice off the bat of Van Stratten to end the ball game and give New Jersey its 33rd win of the season.

The Jackals head back home for an off-day on Monday before returning to Yogi Berra Stadium on Tuesday, August 7.

After losing two of three in Ottawa to begin the week, New Jersey welcomes in the Champions for a three-game set.
