Winnipeg Goldeyes' 1st baseman Scott Schade drilled a 2 out 2 strike pitch from Edmonton Cracker-Cat reliever Mike Johnson into right field to score 2 runs in a 3-2 Goldeyes' victory Tuesday night at TELUS Field in Edmonton. For Johnson, 0-1, it was his 1st blown save of the season after recording 4 saves in as many save situations.
Goldeyes' starter Joel Posey, 2-1, pitched a solid 8 innings allowing 2 runs on a 6 hits to record the victory. Matt Davis faced 4 batters in the 9th to record his 7th save. Cracker-Cats' starter Mike Henry allowed 1 run on 5 hits over 7 innings in a no decision.
The series resumes on Wednesday night, the 9-14 Cracker Cats will send out RHP Scott Richmond (2-1, 3.69 ERA) and the 13-10 Goldeyes will counter with RHP Ben Moore (2-1, 6.38).
