
Winning Streak Continues, Tied for CIFL Atlantic Division Second Place

Worcester, MA. New England Surge of the Continental Indoor Football League, (CIFL), beat their rival the Chesapeake Tides on Saturday, May 19 @ the DCU Center before a rowdy crowd of almost 3,000 fans. The victory streak continues under interim Head Coach Roy Lucas, Jr. This places the Surge at 5-3 standing neck in neck competition for second place in the Atlantic Division with Steubenville Stampedes who will be facing the Surge Saturday May 26, at the DCU Center in Worcester. First place is Rochester Raiders.
Surge's quarterback # 8 Marc Eddy who played at Algonquin Regional High School in Northboro, and was a star at Bentley, threw for 206 yards and six touchdowns to a 62-39 victory. Touch Down receivers were #1 Cy Butler with 2 touch downs, #85 Dallas Mall (1-TD)-also of Algonquin and Bentley fame with Eddy, #2 Jeremy Collins, and #5 Tyler Grogan, fullback # 44 Harold Shaw and tight end # 80 Colin Stoetzel with single TD catches for the Surge. Kicker # 3 Eric Calderwood kicked 7 field goals.
Linebacker # 88 Kerry Taylor and 6-foot-6, 325-pound defensive lineman # 90 Brian Watson had huge defensive games for New England. The Surge have four regular season games left in their CIFL season which includes home games against Steubenville on Saturday 5/26 at the DCU Center in Worcester, MA.
Surge Home Games & Practice
The Surge is in Worcester with another home game against Steubenville on May 26, an away game against LeHigh Valley OutLawz, back home on June 16 playing number 1 Division standing Rochester Raiders, then away again June 23. The Surge's regular practice schedule is Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday at The DCU Center Worcester MA from 7-10PM. Press are welcomed.
