Worcester, MA. The New England Surge of the Continental Indoor Football League, (CIFL), won against the Miami Valley Silverbacks, in Ohio on Saturday, April 12, 2008. Running back Harold Shaw made three of the touch downs giving him 11 for the season. Rashawn Jones had 3 interceptions with 2 converted to touch downs, as well as Jeremy Collins for 1 touchdowns, Cy Butler for 1, and Aaron Haiston for 1.
The Surge now undefeated 3-0 return for their home game opener on Sunday, April 20 at the DCU Center, Worcester, MA Roy Lucas, Jr, Owner and Head Coach states, "The team has come together very well blending the talents of our returning veterans with our new players. We promise our fans in Worcester County that they will be experiencing one of the most exciting games they have seen...and we hope everyone comes out to see us in our first home game."
