
Winker, Cisco Win Dragons Players of the Month Honors

DAYTON, OHIO-The Dayton Dragons today announced the team's Batter and Pitcher of the Month award winners for the month of April following the conclusion of fan voting at daytondragons.com.
The Dragons Batter of the Month is Jesse Winker. He batted .284 in April with seven doubles, one triple, two home runs, 12 runs batted in, 11 runs scored, with a slugging percentage of .469 and an on-base percentage of .383. Other nominees for Batter of the Month were Jeff Gelalich and Brent Peterson.
The Dragons Pitcher of the Month is Drew Cisco. He posted a record of 2-1 with a 3.00 earned run average in five April starts. He walked only one batter and struck out 30 in 33 innings. He led the Midwest League in innings pitched and fewest walks per nine innings. Other nominees for Pitcher of the Month were Sal Romano and Jesus Adames.
The winning players will be honored during an inning break of the Dragons game tonight at Fifth Third Field vs. Lansing. There will also be a Player of the Month luncheon tomorrow (Friday, May 10th) at Subway, 3024 Far Hills Ave, at 12:00 noon. Fans may attend to ask questions to the winning players and receive autographs.
