Aberdeen Wings News Release
Weekend Recap
The Wings traveled out East this past weekend for their final trip to Coulee Region to take on the Chill in more ways then one. The Wings started the weekend out Friday night with a tough 4-3 loss to the Chill ending the 2 game winning streak. The Chill jumped out early taking a 2-0 lead into the final minute of the 1st period when Justin Parizek got the Wings on the board with assists from Stephen Johnson and Jake Horton. After an early Coulee goal in the 2nd the Wings responded with a couple of their own. First Patrick Steinhauser scored at the 11:51 mark with an assist going to Tyler Cisar then Erik Baskin tied things up with an assist from Carl Witty. However that is where the Wings scoring ended and the Chill were able to add an early 3rd period power play goal to take the 4-3 win. Saturday night was a back and forth battle as well. This time the Wings were on the winning side of things. Coulee once again was able to strike first but Kyle Haak's unassisted goal tied the game early on in the first. Coulee was able to bounce back and retake the lead only to have Justin Parizek tie the game once again heading into the first intermission. Assists on the Parizek goal went to Steinhauser and Jonathan Grebosky. Coulee came out in the 2nd and once again retook the lead at the 1:04 mark and it stayed that way until the final minute of the period when Steinhauser tied things up with assists going to Haak and Grebosky. The Wings dominated the 3rd period adding goals from Tanner Holmquist, and 2 from Grebosky, with assists being credited to Horton, Steinhauser (2), Baskin, Dylan Dailey and Haak. The Chill added a late goal but ended up falling to the Wings 6-4. Zach Nagelvoort was credited with the win between the pipes for the Wings making 27 saves on 31 shots. For his efforts Patrick Steinhauser was named NAHL's Central Division Star of the Week with honorable mention going to Jonathan Grebosky!
