The Philadelphia Wings will open their 22nd franchise season on Saturday, January 12 against the Buffalo Bandits at Wachovia Center at 7:30 p.m. This will be the first time since 2000 that Philadelphia has opened the season at home. The Wings entire 16-game schedule will be announced on Monday, September 17.
"This is the first time in four years that we've opened the season against a divisional opponent and the first time in seven years that we've opened up at home, " said Wings Owner and President Russ Cline. "We're thrilled to be able to start the season in front of our fans and host an outstanding team like Buffalo. This match-up will be a great way to get our season started."
The Wings and Bandits have met 32 times in the regular season since their first meeting in 1992. The series between the two teams is tied at 16 wins each with the Wings having a 9-7 edge in games played in Philadelphia.
