New York Titans Open 2008 Nll Season At The Garden On December 27

New York, NY - The New York Titans will open the 2008 National Lacrosse League season at home on December 27th at Madison Square Garden when they take on the Chicago Shamrox at 8PM.
"Our team will look to duplicate the effort we had in our inaugural home opener last season," said Titans Head Coach Adam Mueller. "The energy in the Garden helped tremendously and we look forward to even more support this season."
The Titans faced Chicago three times last season and won their home opener against the Shamrox 11-9 on January 20th in front of a raucous crowd of 13,127 fans at the Garden.
The Titans' core offense, one of the best in the league last season, is still intact for the 2008 NLL season. Perennial All-Stars Casey Powell and Ryan Boyle will continue to set the tone for the team on the right side of the net, while veteran Pat Maddalena and last year's first round draft pick Brendan Mundorf will again round out the Titans offense on the left. The Titans have also beefed up their defense by drafting 2007 NCAA Defenseman of the Year Mitch Belisle out of Cornell University in the 2007 NLL Entry Draft, while Jordan Hall, the Titans' first pick in the draft, will bring even more speed and athleticism to the Titans' already powerful transition game.
"We're looking to continue the momentum we had toward the end of last season when we finished 2-1," Mueller added. "I am very excited to enter season number two with our returning players and the new talent we brought onto the team."
The Titans full regular season schedule will be announced on Monday, September 17th.
