
National Lacrosse League regular season to open in New York on December 27th

The National Lacrosse League has announced that the upcoming season will open at Madison Square Garden on Thursday, December 27th, 2007, as the New York Titans host the Chicago Shamrox at 8pm ET. The contest will be the first of the 2008 regular season, which will consist of 112 games to be played over seventeen weekends.
The season opening weekend continues in the Western Division, as the Colorado Mammoth host its home opener against the Portland LumberJax on Saturday, December 29th. Some of the other early season highlights include the 2007 Western Division champion Arizona Sting hosting its home opener on January 4th vs. the Calgary Roughnecks; the Minnesota Swarm hosting the defending champion Rochester Knighthawks in the Swarm home opener on January 4th; the Chicago Shamrox open the home portion of their second season in the league by hosting the Buffalo Bandits on January 5th. The home opener of the tenth season of lacrosse for the Toronto Rock takes place on January 11th as they host Minnesota. The San Jose Stealth look to build on their late-season run from last year when they open their home schedule against Calgary on January 11th. Former Wings Sean Greenhalgh and Ian Llord return to Philadelphia as visitors when the Wings host Buffalo in the Philadelphia home opener on January 12th.
The full regular season schedule for all fourteen clubs will be announced on Monday, September 17th.
