Aberdeen Wings News Release
Your Aberdeen Wings came away with 4 points from 3 games this past week. The Wings started off Wednesday traveling to Brookings to play a Veterans Day game vs the Blizzard. Aberdeen's Kevin Fitzgerald, Kieran Durgan, Jackson Graalum & Will Hammer all tallied goals but just 49 seconds into the overtime period Brookings would get the game winner. Aberdeen left town with a loss but with a point.
Friday night the Wings were back at the Odde to take on Minot who they had just taken into a shootout the week before. Aberdeen would come out firing in front of the home crowd and got on the board quick. Will Hammer got the scoring started just under 3 minutes into the game with the assists going to Tucker DeYoung and Carter Roo. Minutes later Chris Murphy got his first goal as an Aberdeen Wing with Tyler Bossert and Jackson Graalum getting the assists. That would be all the Wings would need as Gavin Paczosa would stop 37 of the 38 shots he faced to give the Wings a 2-1 victory.
Saturday the Wings once again loaded up the bus, this time headed north to once again take on Minot. Once again Aberdeen would be playing with an early lead thanks to Carter Roo, Tanner Okeson and Tucker DeYoung would be credited with assists on the Roo goal midway through the 1st. Kevin Fitzgerald increased the Wings lead in the 2nd with Andrew Noel and Ryan Cook assisting. Minot wouldn't go down easily though scoring 2 quick goals to send the teams into a 2-2 intermission. After no scoring in the 3rd the teams headed to overtime. Minot was able to sneak one past Thome for the win. Peter Thome stopped 36 of the 39 shots he faced.
Aberdeen is taking another bus trip south this weekend when they take on the Brookings Blizzard this Saturday night at 7:30 CST. The game can be heard on 94.1 The ROCK, streamed @ hubcityradio.com or watched @ fasthockey.com.
