The Coulee Region Chill got off to the start they needed for their four-game set against divisional foes in Alaska, the Kenai River Brown Bears and Fairbanks Ice Dogs.

This past weekend the Chill faced the Brown Bears first.  Kenai River jumped out on top of the Chill early in the opening period but the Chill answered back with a goal of their own courtesy of Dom Florian.  The second period was eventful as the Chill barraged three goals on the Brown Bears - two coming via the power play - in :46 seconds of game play.  Brady Ferner and Michael Wilson chipped in the power play goals and Justin Kendall scored the third for his first NAHL goal in his very first game.  The Nico Luka scored a goal early in the third to make the score 5-1 before the Brown Bears scored one late but it wasn't enough as the Chill held onto the victory.  Hunter Vorva was in net and saved 21/23 shots on the night.

Saturday night was much like the night before.  The Brown Bears scored the first two goals of the game but it was all Chill after that with three goals coming in the second from Phil Erickson, Isaac Theisen and Davis Zembergs and three more goals in the third via Joey Sofo, Will Reedy and Caleb Schroer.  Throughout the night the Chill pelted Brown Bear goalie Brian Baker with 51 total shots; on the opposite side of the ice, Vorva only saw 20 shots throughout the contest and went on to pick up his second consecutive win.

The Chill will be taking on Fairbanks this weekend with games on both Friday and Saturday night.
