Aberdeen Wings News Release
Today, the Aberdeen Wings organization announced the signing of Elite Tier I prospect Jack Nile of the Chicago Fury.
Nile, a 6-foot, 185 lbs forward from Lisle, Illinois is currently playing in the AAA Elite prospect league with the Chicago Fury. A 1995-born player, Nile has signed a tender with the Aberdeen Wings of the North American Hockey League.
"Jack Nile is competitive, hard skating forward who plays a solid power game," commented Wings Director of Player Personnel Francis Anzalone. "He is a smart, well-rounded player who gives an honest effort in all three zones."
So far this season, in just 35 games played Nile has scored 10 goals and 23 assists for a total 33 points. Last season, he put up similar numbers with 7 goals and 21 assists for 28 points. During the 2011-2012 year, while playing U16 Tier I the forward compiled 12 goals and 12 assists for 24 points in 36 games.
"JackÃÂ is a player that Mike Grattan (Aberdeen Wings Head Scout) and I have followed for close to three years, so to finally have the chance to work with him is exciting for our staff," added Anzalone. "The more we learned about Jack's character, family, and background the more intrigued we became with him."
"We welcome Jack to the Aberdeen Wings," said Wings head coach Travis Winter. "We believe his makeup as both an athlete and anÃÂ individual fits with what we want out of our people as well as the direction we are trying to take our program."
