July 6, 2021 - National Lacrosse League (NLL) - Philadelphia Wings News Release

PHILADELPHIA, PA - The Philadelphia Wings' offense is poised to be even stronger next season after forward Ben McIntosh re-signed with the team on a three-year contract that will keep him in Philadelphia through the 2023-2024 season. The Wings traded for McIntosh in the summer of 2020, but due to the league-wide pause caused by COVID-19 for the 2019-2020 season, McIntosh will make his debut with the Wings when the new season begins in December.

McIntosh will bring even more firepower to a Wings offense that ranked 8th in the league throughout 14 games before the 2019-2020 season was ultimately cancelled. In 2018, McIntosh set a career-high and tied for fourth in the NLL with 46 goals, tied for third in the league with 13 power-play goals, and tied for first in the NLL with three game-winning goals. He finished 2019 tied for fourth in the NLL with 41 goals and tied for 10th in power-play goals with eight.

"I am beyond excited to be a part of the Wings organization," said McIntosh. "Philadelphia has had a special place in my heart since my college days at Drexel and it's now where I call home. Management has built a team that is ready to win now and I can't think of anything better than being a part of the team that brings a championship to Philly."

During his time at Drexel, McIntosh scored 191 goals and 328 points while earning Honorable Mention All-American status, First Team All-CAA Conference, and the CAA Commissioner's Academic Award. Although born in Canada, McIntosh visited Drexel, fell in love with the campus, and chose Philadelphia to call home. Today, McIntosh and his wife Kelly, a fellow Drexel alum, have also ingrained themselves in the Philadelphia area as local lacrosse coaches.

"We are excited to have Ben join us for the next 3 years. His experience will serve as a great addition to our locker room as we compete for a championship," said Paul Day, head coach and general manager of the Philadelphia Wings. "As a Drexel grad, he is well ingrained in the lacrosse community and is dedicated to growing the sport in the Philadelphia region."

Selected by the Rush as the first overall pick in the 2014 NLL Entry Draft, McIntosh was named 2015 NLL Rookie of the Year, a member of the NLL All-Rookie Team, and winner of the 2016 NLL Sportsmanship Award.
