April 8, 2023 - North American Hockey League (NAHL)
Aberdeen Wings News Release

The Aberdeen Wings beat the St. Cloud Norsemen in a crucial game. They were able to put up 5 goals against the Norsemen as they only gave up 1. Cole Moore stopped 34/35 shots he faced. The Wings penalty kill shined as they held St. Cloud to go 1/7 on the night.

The first period started off hot for the Wings, scoring two goals. The first, coming from a redirect goal by Nikolai Tishkevich. The second goal coming from Jordan Ronn giving him his first career NAHL goal. The Wings two goal lead would be the only two goals scored in the period. Both the Wings and Norsemen were able to deny the only man advantage each other had through the first.

The second period was a little slower moving, but the penalties only sped up. The Wings were able to stop St. Cloud on all 3 power plays they had in the period. Thanks to good goaltending and defense the Wings would keep their 2-0 lead going into the third period. Cole Moore was able to stop all 19 shots he had seen throughout the first two periods.

The third period the Wings went on a scoring spree. Scoring 3 goals with two coming on the short hand. Goals in the 2nd period coming from Reim, O'Connell, playing in his 100th NAHL game, on the short hand, and Tishkevich scoring an empty netter also shorthanded. The Norsemen were able to score one goal coming from Kade Peterson early in the period but the Wings were able to answer right back, with the Remi goal.

The Wings will finish out the weekend Saturday night in St. Cloud with a 7 pm puck drop once again. They finish out the regular season next weekend at home once again playing two games against the St. Cloud Norsemen.
