Wings' Greenhalgh Receives Fifth Rookie Of The Week Award

Philadelphia Wings forward Sean Greenhalgh was named Rookie of the Week in week sixteen of National Lacrosse League action. Greenhalgh recorded seven points (2G, 5A) and 10 loose balls in two games against Buffalo Bandits last Friday and Saturday.

"I'm very proud of Sean for what he's accomplished in his rookie season in the NLL," said Wings General Manager and Head Coach Lindsay Sanderson. "He became a consistent performer in a very competitive East Division and has emerged as one of the true future stars in this league."

Greenhalgh scored seven points on two goals and five assists, in the Wings home and home series against the Bandits. Greenhalgh scored a goal on the power play and added two assists for three points and collected six loose balls in the Wings 8-7 loss to Buffalo on Friday night. On Saturday, Greenhalgh scored one goal and added three assists for four points along with four loose balls in a 14-11 win over the Bandits.

The 5'10", 185-pound forward led all NLL rookies in points during the regular season with 73 (31G, 42A) and tied for tenth overall in the league in scoring. This is Greenhalgh's second consecutive Rookie of the Week Award and his fifth of the season. He has also been the recipient of the NLL's Player of the Week Award twice. The St. Catharine's, ON native was drafted by the Wings in the first round (3rd overall) in the 2005 NLL Entry Draft.
