
Dawson, Dietrich and Greenhalgh Honored

Dan Dawson's seven goals and twelve points in Week Sixteen helped lead the Arizona Sting to two victories over the San Jose Stealth and capturing the final playoff berth. For his efforts Dawson earned both Offensive and Overall Player of the Week honors. Buffalo Bandits goaltender Steve Dietrich earned Defensive Player of the Week for his performance in an important 8-7 win over Philadelphia on Friday. The goalie tallied his tenth win of the season by allowing only seven goals on the 46 shots that he faced. The win guaranteed home field advantage for Buffalo throughout the 2006 playoffs. Philadelphia Wings forward Sean Greenhalgh has earned Rookie of the Week honors scoring seven points over two games in Week Sixteen.
Arizona Sting forward Dan Dawson was named the Overall and Offensive Player of the Week for Week Sixteen. Dawson scored three goals and three assists for six points and collected five loose balls in a 16-13 home win over the San Jose Stealth on Friday. On Saturday Dawson scored four goals and added two assists for six points in a 10-7 road win over the Stealth. The fifth year veteran scored one power play goal and collected two loose balls in Saturday's win.
Buffalo Bandits veteran goaltender Steve Dietrich earned Defensive Player of the Week. Dietrich stopped 39 shots and allowed only seven goals in an 8-7 home with over Philadelphia on Friday. The win is Dietrich's tenth of the season. With the win the Bandits clinched home floor advantage throughout the playoffs. The Bandits rested Dietrich for Saturday's 14-11 road loss to Philadelphia.
Philadelphia Wings forward Sean Greenhalgh earned Rookie of the Week Honors for Week Sixteen. Greenhalgh scored a goal on the power play and added two assists for three points and collected six loose balls in an 8-7 loss to Buffalo on Friday. On Saturday Greenhalgh scored a goal and added three assists for four points and collected four loose balls in a 14-11 win over Buffalo.

Dan Dawson (Arizona) - (2GP, 7G, 5A, 12Pts, 7LB) scored seven goals and added five assists for a total of twelve points in two wins over San Jose this weekend, 16-13 and 12-7; also collected seven loose balls.
DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Steve Dietrich (Buffalo) - (39 saves, 7GA) saved 39 of 46 SOG, while allowing seven goals in his tenth win of the season, 8-7 over Philadelphia. Did not play in Saturday's game at Philly.
ROOKIE OF THE WEEK
Sean Greenhalgh (Philadelphia) - (2GP, 2G, 5A, 7Pts, 10LB) scored two goals and added five assists for a total of seven points in one win, 14-11 over Buffalo, and one loss, 8-7 to Buffalo; also collected ten loose balls.
