September 27, 2020 - North American Hockey League (NAHL)
Aberdeen Wings News Release
Your Aberdeen Wings hit the road for the first time this season for a pair of games in North Dakota over the Weekend. Friday night the Wings were in Bismarck to take on the Bobcats. Bismarck jumped out to a big 4 goal first period lead before Clayton Cosentino got the Wings on the board late in the period. Cosentino would add another, Spencer Schneider had a power play goal and Marshall Walker would all score in the 3rd but it wasn't enough as Bismarck got the 6-4 exhibition win. Sibell stopped 22 of the 28 shots he faced Friday.
Saturday the Wings headed up the road to take on The Minot Minotauros. Nico deVita got the scoring started in the 1st period, but Minot would respond with two of their own to take a 2-1 lead into the locker room. The two teams would trade goals in the 2nd with Liam Fraser going under the bar for the Wings but the deficit remained a goal 3-2 after 2. Minot would build their lead to 4-2 with a power play goal in the 3rd. Clayton Cosentino would make things interesting scoring a goal with a pulled tender, but it wouldn't be enough as Minot takes the game 4-3. Wasik would stop 21 of the 25 shots he faced.
"This weekend allowed our new faces to see what it is like to play on the road in the central division of the NAHL. The lessons learned is you have to start when the puck drops. There were positives in each game that we will bring into our week of work before we play Austin." Head Coach/GM Scott Langer
The Wings return to the Odde for the final exhibition weekend as they take on the Austin Bruins in a pair of games this Friday & Saturday night. Tickets will be available online or at any of the C-Express locations in Aberdeen.
