HEAD COACH LATRICIA TRAMMEL QUOTES
POST GAME QUOTES
On Arike's offensive production...
"You can impact the game in other ways you. I mean, she still put up 16 shots. She's averaging about 21. So not too bad there. And she just didn't knock down a three. She had five looks. But she did have 6 assists, which is really good. And that's something that she's been wanting to do is get her assists up, and sometimes that just happens. You got to embrace what the defense does and she's surrounded by some incredible players. And so you think about it- Satou [Sabally] double digits, Natasha [Howard] double digits, Crystal [Dangerfield] double digits, Veronica [Burton] double digits. And that's what - It's a team effort.
On an update on Crystal Dangerfield's status...
"No, not yet. I know that she was in the locker room just now. But no, no update yet. Ankle I do know."
On the team's defense against the Sun, specifically Brionna Jones...
"We didn't execute the plan very well and that's something that we talked about at half and we've got to adjust to that. And so we've got to do a better job next time that we see her."
On how she plays to regroup and start fresh going into the Phoenix series...
Well, that's what it is. Teams are going to have adversity. We've got to step up. I mean, we've just got to play through it and it is what it is. So excited to see BG [Brittney Griner] on the court. I mean, so glad that she is back and healthy. She's so important to our game and this league. So, looking forward to seeing her and getting back on the court. Going to give the team a day off tomorrow. They need one. We haven't had one in a long time. And then get prepared for Tuesday for Phoenix."
On what she's see Maddy Siegrist's develop throughout the start of the season...
"Her competitive spirit. I've said that, and I think I'm going to say again, her will to win, her will to not take a back seat. I mean, she actually is trying to do what is asked of her and she's growing into her game at this level. So more and more - I don't say that it's her confidence, because she always has it. It's mine to be honest. Of knowing that she can do some of those little things that we're asking on the defensive end and she's proving that. I love her work ethic. She's going to be a great player, is a great player, but a great player in this league."
