Wings Exemplify Brotherly Love at NLL Entry Draft

Buffalo, NY - The Philadelphia Wings selected Bobby Snider from Bellarmine University and the New Westminster Salmonbellies with their first pick (16 overall) in the 2009 NLL Entry Draft. Snider, brother of Wings All-Star Geoff Snider, was ranked number 10 on NLL Insider's "Hot 50" list prior to this year's draft. The 5'11" 195 pound defender was a member of the Burnaby Lakers Junior A team which won two championships (2004 and 2005) and is currently playing for New Westminster in the Mann Cup which is the senior men's lacrosse championship of Canada.

The Wings selected John Glynn from Cornell University with their second selection (26 overall). Glynn ranked third in the nation in ground balls per game (6.56) and eighth in the NCAA in face-off winning percentage (.574) on his way to being named a Tewaarton finalist. He was also a member of the 2009 NCAA Championship All-Tournament Team.

With their third pick (37 overall), Philadelphia selected Peet Poillon from the University of Maryland Baltimore County. Poillon was a second team All-American and led UMBC in points (2.94) and assists (1.31) per game in 2009.

The Wings traded Jon Harasym to Buffalo in exchange for the Bandits' fourth round pick (40 overall) and selected Mike Timms out of the University of Virginia. Timms was a two-time captain for the Cavaliers and was the team's top longstick midfielder. He ranked second on the team in ground balls in both 2008 and 2009.

PT Ricci from Loyola College was the Wings' fifth selection (45 overall). The Wayne, PA native and Conestoga High School graduate ranked eighth in the nation in ground balls, averaging 6.36 per game in 2009.

Philadelphia traded its final pick (55 overall) to the Colorado Mammoth for transition player Mike Ward. Ward had three assists and 24 loose balls in six games played during his rookie season for Colorado.
