Aberdeen Wings News Release
The Aberdeen Wings looked to close out the 2012-2013 season on a high note Saturday night when they faced off with the Brookings Blizzard at the Odde Ice Center! The Wings got things started at the 4:12 mark of the 1st period when Erik Baskin scored a power play goal with assists coming from Kyle Haak and Dylan Dailey. A few minutes later Zach Doerring was able to put the Wings ahead 2-0 when he was able to score on a rebound shot that came off the stick of Erik Baskin, also assisting on the goal was Jonathan Grebosky. The Wings went into the 1st intermission with that lead but came out wanting and getting more. Steven Johnson was able to give the Wings a 3 goal lead when he ripped a shot from the blue line past the goaltender for Brookings. Jake Horton assisted on the Johnson power play goal. Brookings would answer late in the 2nd with a goal of their own to send the game into the 2nd intermission 3-1. That's as close as Brookings would come as the Wings came out in the 3rd looking to add to their lead. Colton Kramer was able to add another power play goal at the 10:20 mark of the period. Assisting on the goal were Dailey and Sam Coborn. Jordan Heller would end the scoring and the season for the Wings when he netted the 4th power play goal of the game for the Wings. Assisting on the goal were Horton and Johnson. Chad Catt was in goal for the Wings and was able to make 46 saves on 47 shots. The Wings ended their season with a record of 24-30-7.
