June 5, 2019 - North American Hockey League (NAHL)
Aberdeen Wings News Release

The Aberdeen Wings took part in the 2019 NAHL Entry draft Tuesday June 4th. The Wings are looking to reload after this past seasons National Championship team. With success comes departure, every year we lose players who age out or move on so it's a constant job "replacing" these athletes.

With their first selection and 8th pick overall the Wings took Jake Sibell a 6'1 200lb Goaltender who spent last season with the Sioux City Musketeers.

The Wings 2nd pick and 24th overall was Forward Jakob Breault from the Notre Dame Hounds. Jake is 5'11 180lb.

in the 3rd round and 65th overall the Wings selected Sebastien Paquette a 6'2 200lb Defenseman from the Valleyfield Braves.

The 76th overall pick was Evan Googins a 5'10 185lb forward from Alberni Valley Bulldogs.

For their 5th pick and 102nd overall the Wings selected Colton Friesen a 5'7 128lb forward from the Winkler Flyers.

Pick 128 overall and 6th for the Wings was Forward Fletcher Anderson who is a 5'9 154lb player from the Smith Falls Bears.

Round 6, overall pick 154 was Jason Ruszkowski a 5'11 170lb forward from Millbrook School.

Noah Kiemel was the 180th pick in the draft for the Wings. He is a 6'5 201lb defender from the Olds Grizzly's.

Round 8 overall pick 206 The Wings selected Tyler Leibl a 5'9 170lb forward from the Weyburn Red Wings.

The Wings final pick and overall pick 232 was Tyler Blanchard a 5'11 181lb forward comes from the Texas Jr. Brahmas.

Overall the coaching and scouting staff for the Wings was very pleased with the draft. Filling holes is never easy and it takes a lot of time and effort. These players will mix with returning players, tendered players and free agents at the Wings Main Camp this July. From there 30 players will come back to Aberdeen for training camp.
