Aberdeen Wings News Release
Aberdeen 6 @ MN Wilderness 3 - Jonathan Bendorf potted a pair of goals and the Aberdeen Wings closed their regular season with a 6-3 win and road sweep over the Minnesota Wilderness. Riley Murphy, John Sladic and Pierson Brandon each had a goal and an assist while Stepan Pokorny also lit the lamp. Sladic also had his 100th point in the NAHL. Murphy set franchise records in short handed goals (5) and Wings penalty minutes (126). Connor Close denied 32 shots and earned the win in goal. Dylan Johnson, Brandon McNamara and Ryan Nelson all netted goals for the Wilderness. Ryan Fanti stopped 29 shots. The Wings finish the regular season with a franchise best 47-10-2-1 record and 97 points.
The Wings still don't have an opponent for next weeks opening round of the Robertson Cup Playoffs as the Austin Bruins shut out Bismarck 3-0. 3rd & 4th place will be decided tonight when the two team meet again. Minot was able to lock up 2nd place with a win over Brookings. While we don't know who we will be playing just yet, we do know that we will be at the Odde next Friday & Saturday April 12th & 13th. GA tickets are on sale now at any of the C-Express locations in Aberdeen for just $10! Or get reserved tickets by stopping out to the Odde next week during the designated ticket pick up times, (these will be announced Monday morning).
