Aberdeen Wings News Release
The Aberdeen Wings will kick off a stretch of away games this weekend when they travel to St. Cloud to take on the Norsemen Friday and Saturday.
This is the first of three consecutive weekends on the road - the only remaining home game in March is a midweek St. Patrick's Day game against the Minot Minotauros.
The Wings, currently 31-1-0-1, have won their last nine games. They've won 16 of their last 17 games, with their only loss coming in a shootout against the Minnesota Wilderness on Feb. 5. Since that loss, the Wings have outscored their opponents 42-13, a difference of 29 goals.
St. Cloud, 12-18-0-1 on the season, has also been on a hot streak, coming into the weekend winning their last three games. That included two overtime wins against Minot and, most recently, a shutout over the Minnesota Wilderness.
In the 2020-21 season, the Wings and St. Cloud have met six times - the Norsemen gave the Wings their first and only regulation loss of the season back on Dec. 19, but the Wings have found victory in the other five matchups.
Here's a closer look at the Wings' March schedule:
March 12-13 AT St. Cloud Norsemen
March 17 home vs. Minot Minotauros
March 19-20 AT Minot Minotauros
March 26-27 AT Minnesota Wilderness
Puck drops this weekend in St. Cloud's Municipal Athletic Complex at 7:10 p.m. Wings fans can watch the game via their HockeyTV subscription or live at Buffalo Wings & Rings in Aberdeen. The game's audio will also be broadcast over Hub City Radio's 94.1 The Rock.
