The Philadelphia Wings acquired forwards Kevin Howard (1st round, 4th overall), Jake Lawson (2nd round, 15th overall), and DJ Serr (3rd round, 26th overall) in a dispersal draft held today by the National Lacrosse League. Available in the dispersal draft were players under contract to the Ottawa Rebel, who announced yesterday that they would suspend operations for the 2003-04 season.

"We were pleased that Kevin Howard was available when we made our first pick" said Wings General Manager Marty O'Neill. "I was also pleasantly surprised that we were able to acquire Lawson and Serr in the second and third rounds respectively."

Howard recorded 55 points (30G, 25A) for the Rebel in 2003 after spending the 2002 season as a member of the Buffalo Bandits. Lawson and Serr were holdouts on the Rebel's roster last season. Both were members of the Rebel during their rookie seasons in 2001.

Season tickets are on sale now for the 2004 Wings season. Reserve the best seats in the house before they flya away by calling 215-389-WINGS (9464).
