
Wings' 20th anniversary season takes flight December 30th

The Philadelphia Wings indoor lacrosse team opens their 20TH Anniversary season on Friday, December 30, on the road against the Colorado Mammoth at the Pepsi Center. The Wings open the home portion of their 2006 campaign at the Wachovia Center on Saturday, January 14 against the Minnesota Swarm.
The Wings will play six different opponents in their eight-game home schedule which includes the Minnesota Swarm on Saturday, January 14; the Buffalo Bandits on Saturday, February 11; the Portland LumberJax on Saturday, February 18; the Toronto Rock on Saturday, March 4; the Rochester Knighthawks on Saturday, March 11; the Arizona Sting on Saturday, March 25; Rochester on Saturday, April 1, and Buffalo on Saturday, April 15. The Wings will host a 1:30 p.m. matinee on Saturday, March 25. All other home games will start at 8 p.m.
"We're happy to be able to move our home games back to Saturdays this season for our fans," said Wings Owner and President Russ Cline. "With a great young team and a variety of tough opponents at home, our 20TH Anniversary season is shaping up to be very exciting."
The Wings face the Toronto Rock in the Heritage Game on Friday, February 24 at the Air Canada Centre. The Heritage Game will begin the festivities for the 2006 National Lacrosse League All-Star Weekend in Toronto, ON. The 2006 NLL All-Star Game will be held on Saturday, February 25 at the Air Canada Centre.
Highlighting the Wings 20TH franchise season are first round draft picks forwards Sean Greenhalgh and Luke Wiles and defenseman Chad Thompson. Dallas Eliuk, the most decorated goaltender in professional lacrosse history, will return for his 16TH season between the pipes and continues his streak as the longest-playing current professional athlete in Philadelphia.
