Wings 2019 Training Camp Report: Day 6

May 10, 2019 - Women's National Basketball Association (WNBA) - Dallas Wings News Release

WHAT HAPPENED

The Dallas Wings were in action today from Ed and Rae Schollmaier Arena on the campus of TCU. Today's work can be summed up with one word. Defense. Coach Agler had the team in multiple defensive situations this afternoon, getting more reps in before the team's first preseason games this coming Monday and Tuesday. The defensive work included individual and team focused activities along with full court intersquad 5-on-5 and 5-on-5 against the practice squad. TCU Head Football Coach Gary Patterson was in attendance and spoke to the team after the workout. Patterson said he admired the team's defensive attitude and could tell the players were giving their all during today's session.

WHAT WAS SAID

"Feeling really good about training camp. Everyone is coming in. We're putting in a lot of work. A lot of effort. You're seeing a lot of energy plays. A lot of great defense. I think we're really starting to come together and find our chemistry." - Theresa Plaisance

"I've gotten a little aggressive. I guess the main thing is this year I'm trying to rebrand myself. I'm trying to rebuild myself up from the start and I definitely think Coach Agler's playing a great part in helping me become the player that I want to be. But the main thing is to approach the game more as a mental aspect than a physical aspect because I know if I'm mentally strong then I'll be able to play and up my game." - Allisha Gray

" I'm feeling good. The days are long and it's very competitive out here, but I think that's a good thing because every one's getting more mentally tough every day and Brian is pushing us harder than we've ever been pushed. " - Brooke McCarty-Williams

"I think we're progressing. We've got a lot in and we put quite a bit of time on our defense today which we've got to continue to do. We're just not really looking too far down the road... I'm only worried about tomorrow's practice. Try to get better tomorrow." - Head Coach Brian Agler
